Conditions of Sale
a) In order to make reservations using the payment method displayed on this website, you must be 16 years of age or over. By using megabus.com you confirm that you possess the legal authority to enter into the conditions of use for this site, including instructing us to collect any payments from a credit card, and to use this site in accordance with all these terms and conditions. You also confirm that all information supplied by you in using this site is true and accurate.
b) The contracting party for your journey are shown in the relevant Conditions of Carriage.
c) Tickets are sold through this web site for megabus.com branded services and for those of other selected operators. The specific terms and conditions of sale that apply to your journey are shown in the relevant Conditions of Carriage. By purchasing a ticket, you agree to accept the conditions. Where such a route allows tickets to be purchased on board, this will be done at the price set by the operator.
d) All tickets bought are singles and the fare is not affected if you purchase a single in both directions.
e) When you buy a ticket online at megabus.com or at a self-service kiosk, you must check your journey itinerary thoroughly before making your payment. Strictly no refunds will be given for incorrect or duplicated journeys.
f) When you book a reservation in person from a travel centre or agent, you must check that you have been issued the correct ticket and that you have received the correct change.
g) When you book a reservation by phone, the agent will confirm the details of the booking back to you. You must check that you will be issued the correct ticket.
h) However you purchase your booking reservation, you must tell the agent about any apparent errors at that time. If you do not, we will only consider claims about any errors if you can show to our reasonable satisfaction that we made an error.
i) If you are booking an international journey, we, or our sales agents, will need to take information related to your identification documents and may be required to provide this to border controls in order to permit you to travel.
j) megabus.com has the right to cancel reservations (whether or not confirmed) of any customer whenever such action is necessary to comply with any governmental regulation, upon any governmental request for emergency transportation in connection with the national defense, or whenever such action is necessary or advisable by reason of weather or other conditions beyond megabus.com's control, including Force Majeure events.
k) Failure or delay by us to enforce an obligation or exercise a right under these terms and conditions does not constitute a waiver of that obligation or right.

2) Purchase of Tickets
a) All prices are quoted in Sterling (£) for tickets on megabus.com website.
b) A single reservation fee of 50p is charged for each transaction. This fee is charged to cover bank and administration charges related to your reservation. Multiple journeys can be booked in one transaction.
c) You may choose to have your reservation number sent to your mobile phone as a SMS text message. Text messages are charged at 10p per message/reservation.
d) Journeys booked by phone will be sold at the same price as those booked through the internet, including the relevant booking fee. However all calls to the sales line will be charged at 65p per minute from landlines in the UK and mobiles may be more.
e) Where two or more people are included on the same ticket or where one person purchases a ticket for another, the person purchasing the ticket shall be deemed to do so on the basis that he or she acts as agent for both or all the members of the travelling party and accepts these Terms of Sale and the relevant Conditions of Carriage on behalf of each member of the party.
f) There are no names attached to a ticket; the billing name may appear on the ticket but the purchaser does not have to be the person travelling.
g) All payment transactions are handled by Worldpay, a secure payment processing provider. Your credit card and related personal details are collected by Worldpay in order to process your payment. More details regarding Worldpay’s terms and conditions and privacy and security policies can be found by visiting the Worldpay website.

3) Validity and Use of Tickets
a) Tickets are only valid for the service(s) you have booked. If you miss your service you will not be permitted to travel on a later service. If you arrive early enough for another service you will not be permitted to travel on that earlier service. You must travel wholly between the origin and destination, on the date and at the time(s) on your ticket. If you start, break and resume, or finish your journey at any intermediate station you will not be able to continue your journey on a subsequent service with the original ticket.
b) Reservation numbers or tickets cannot be resold to anyone else.
c) Concession and discount tickets are only valid with the relevant accompanying concession or discount card, which must belong to the passenger travelling.
d) If you fail in a material respect to comply with any condition that governs the use of a reservation, the staff or agents of the relevant company may withdraw the right to travel or charge a penalty fare as detailed in the relevant Conditions of Carriage.

4) Discounts and Concessions
a) A 10% discount on Standard fares is available on certain journeys for holders of the NUS Extra card. Passengers with an NUS Extra reservation must present their NUS Extra card to the driver/inspector when boarding their service. To obtain this discount show the number of passengers with the card in the NUS Discount Cardholders box.
b) Holders of a Scottish National Entitlement Card (Concession Card) can travel for free on most coach services wholly within Scotland (i.e. trip must begin, be wholly contained and end in Scotland.) There are exclusions and these are detailed by the relevant Conditions of Carriage. Use of the card is subject to the terms set out by Transport Scotland.
c) Bookings made using the Scottish Concession Card on relevant services still attract a 50p booking fee.
d) No other concessionary travel cards apply.

a) Only bookings made through the web site can be amended. Those not made through the megabus.com website are non-amendable. This includes tickets bought in person at a ticket office or agent, by phone or at a self-service kiosk. Concession bookings cannot be amended.
b) All amendments must be made online through the megabus.com website under Manage Reservations.
c) You can amend your megabus.com booking up to 24 hours before the departure of the first megabus.com service in your booking using the web site. You will need to pay the difference between the price paid and the next available price for your journey. If the new journey is cheaper, there will be no refund of the difference.
d) For changes to an existing reservation a £1 fee will apply. This fee applies for each booking changed.
e) Please note that due to the high sales volumes on our website, prices may fluctuate between searches.
f) If you purchase more than one ticket for the same journey you will only be able to amend the group of tickets and you will not be able to amend the tickets individually.
g) Stagecoach Group and affiliated company passes are not valid for travel on megabus.com services.
