Watch a scary film in a cemetery in Bristol
There are loads of spooky film screenings happening as part of Bristol Film Festival, and they’re being shown in some pretty eerie locations across Bristol. Watch The Evil Dead series at Redcliffe Caves, The Nun at Averys Wine Cellars, and both Twilight and Corpse Bride at Arnos Vale Cemetery. That’s right – a scary movie in a cemetery. Take a look at the fill line-up if you’re brave enough.
Rock on at a Monster Music Festival in Manchester
Head to Manchester on the weekend before Halloween and the city is packed with things to do – from themed parades to a creepy carnival. Our pick of the bunch is the Monsters Rock! Music Festival running during the daytime on the 29 and 30 October. Rock up in your best Halloween outfit, and rock on to live bands and DJs, with spooktacular extras like zombie aerobics and a screaming competition.
Party like it’s the apocalypse in Edinburgh
Hype Club and Cocktail Lounge in Edinburgh is going all-out for the Halloween Apocalypse on Monday 31 October. Expect a bucking Halloween pumpkin, giant UV cannons, professional dancers, and all-night music from hip hop to deep house and this party to end all parties. Don your scariest fancy dress, but bear in mind you’re likely to come out looking a little different in the wee hours of the morning thanks to bucketloads of neon paint.

Watch a scary movie in a castle in Cardiff
Looking for something to take the family to in Cardiff? Underground Cinema is back at Cardiff Castle for Halloween, so you can watch one of several family-friendly movies in the castle’s vaulted Undercroft. There’s Hocus Pocus, Paranorman, and The Addams Family, as well as adult scary movies like The Exorcist. The stone-vaulted Undercroft makes an amazingly atmospheric setting, so settle down with some popcorn and enjoy.
Get spooked down in the dungeons of London
If you thought The London Dungeons couldn’t get much creepier, you were wrong. During Halloween, the spook factor turns up a notch at this famous London attraction with a special limited-run show that’s included with your ticket. You’ll step into the attic of 50 Berkley Square, AKA the most haunted house in England. Learn the stories of the poor souls who still haunt the property now – and don’t be surprised if you bump into some of them.

Scream your way around a rollercoaster in Leicester
Twinlakes Theme Park in Leicester becomes a Scream Park just in time for Halloween. There’s pumpkin carving, a witches’ wagon filled with treats and prizes for kids, and a special Halloween circus show from the 18 to the 27 October. Entrance to the circus is free with a ticket to this huge theme park, so you can take on rollercoasters, log flumes, go karts, assault courses and toboggan slides while you’re here.
