  • Cheap day trip for families in the summer holidays as Ferne takes her on megasightseeing.com bus around the capital
  • Book online up to the minute of travel at megasightseeing.com
  • Tour offers 50 famous London sights from as little as 2p a sight

TV presenter Ferne McCann left her native Essex for the day to enjoy a two hour open top tour of London with her family. The new low-cost megasightseeing.com trip has been introduced by coach operator megabus.com

The star – a regular on UK television - brushed up on her knowledge of London by seeing for herself the 50 sights on offer with the megasightseeing.com trip.

Tickets are booked online and start from as little as £1 (plus booking fee) making it a cheap alternative to the usual tourist buses (priced on average at £26) and offering all 50 sights from as little at 2p a sight.

The tour is non-stop so no waiting while people board and it gives visitors time to do something else for the day. For passengers boarding at the Park Lane stop, this could mean a visit to the famous Hard Rock Café where mega passengers can get a free Mango Berry Cooler, worth £5.25 with their main meal when they show their booking confirmation.

Passengers boarding at the London Eye stop near Waterloo station, can enjoy a picnic in Jubilee Park before jumping on board.

At the Tower Hill stop, passengers who want to take in the regal sights of the Crown Jewels can pay a visit to the Tower of London before boarding the bus.

Ferne said the trip gave her a real insight into London which she hadn’t seen before.

She said: “I’ve lived in Essex all my life so I do spend a lot of time in London, but the megasightseeing.com tour is the perfect way to see the sights. It’s a great day out whether you come with family like me, your friends or even just enjoy it on your own.

“The tours are every hour, you can book right up until departure so you can pick your timeslot and still have time to do other things while you are in London. It’s all booked online and everyone is guaranteed a seat on the top deck. If you live outside of London there are plenty of megabus.com services from across the country which will bring you here. It’s a lovely way to enjoy our fantastic city.”

The tour has an audio guide with snippets from Sid. It has three major pick up points in the city- Stop X in Park Lane opposite the Hilton Hotel, Stop TA at Tower Hill and Belvedere Road near the London Eye.

Paul Lynch, MD of Stagecoach London, said: “We were so pleased Ferne was able to take time out of her busy TV schedule to do the megasightseeing.com trip. Our aim is to provide great value for people who want to do a tour of London in an inexpensive way but still get to see all the famous sights the city has to offer: It’s not only a fantastic service for tourists coming into London but for people living and working in and around the capital too. We are very proud of our new Mega trip and know those who have enjoyed it so far have enjoyed it too.”
