Seat reservation

Reserved seating rolled out across megabus network

Leading low-cost coach provider megabus has launched reserved seating across its network in a boost to customers who want to book specific seats.

Around 16 seats on each megabus vehicle can now be reserved in advance during the online booking process from as little as an extra £1* added to the price of the ticket.

The new bookable seats are now available on all megabus services operating within England and Wales, along with cross-border services running between Scotland and England.

It means customers travelling together can book specific seats to guarantee sitting next to each other, and further helps to enhance the customer experience for megabus.com passengers.

Reserved seats are allocated on a first come, first served basis and customers can make the seat reservations as part of the initial booking process.

The country-wide roll-out comes after the company trialled reserved seating on services between London and Norwich over the summer, which proved to be incredibly popular.

megabus.com Managing Director Mark Venables said: “We have been astonished at how quickly the seats are snapped up and how popular the pilot has been, so we're really happy to now offer reserved seating across our network. This is another step towards making coaches increasingly attractive, both to existing and new customers.

“We are proud to have improved the quality of megabus.com services in recent years and we're excited at this latest development for customers - we know some people like to guarantee sitting together if possible, and some people favour specific seats, so this is a great way of helping people to do just that.”
