We know that long distance love can be tough.

In fact, our research found that students in long-distance relationships spend nearly £5,000 a year trying to keep the romance alive - including £163 per month on travel - and are on average 231 miles apart.

In response, back in 2019 we launched an industry-first ‘Sweetheart Saver’ trial ticket, offering ten couples free travel between two destinations for a year – if the trial is successful, we hope to roll out the ticket across the network.
